2009 Jeep Commander Washer Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Washer Pump on 2009 Jeep Commander?
    A: After lubricating a new rubber grommet seal with clean washer fluid, place it into the washer pump mounting hole on the outboard side of the washer reservoir. Line up the inlet nipple on the washer pump to the seal in the wash reservoir and push the bottom of the pump down until the nipple is firmly in place. Press the top of the motor housing down so that its snap post lines up with the one in the washer reservoir. Join the front and rear washer hoses to the matching washer pump outlet nipples to prevent your washer systems from operating incorrectly. Link the washer hoses again to the barbed fittings of the pump, then fit the headlamp and dash wiring harness connector for the washer unit into the top of the motor's connector receptacle. Place the plastic locks that keep the left front wheelhouse splash shield in place, raise the front of the car, reconnect the negative cable on the battery and insert washer fluid into the reservoir after removing it during removal.
