To start, remove and separate the negative
Battery Cable before handling the windshield washer pump. Guide the
Steering Wheel toward one side of the front wheels and raise the vehicle with help. Break the plastic push-in fasteners that hold the forward left front
Wheelhouse splash shield to the inner panel and front fascia. Lift the end of the splash shield that faces the fender away from both the panel and the front fascia to get to the washer pump/motor. Take the washer pump motor's dash wire harness connector and headlamp wire harness connector out of the connector that connects to the motor. Notice how the hoses are installed before you remove them, so you can quickly put them back in place later. Remove the washer hoses from the pump bars and let the washer fluid fall into a container so you can reuse it. Pull on the top of the housing that covers the washer pump/motor, as this will disengage the snap post on the motor from the receptacle in the reservoir. After that, pull the lower section of the pump/motor housing outward, twisting as you go, so that the pump inlet nipple is released from the rubber seal at the bottom of the reservoir. Last, pull out and throw away the rubber grommet seal that was in the washer pump mounting hole in the reservoir.
