2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser Brake Proportioning Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How to install a Brake Proportioning Valve on 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Coat the O-ring on the proportioning valve with grease before installing and if it is not brand new, you should replace it. Then put the proportioning valve in the master cylinder port and tighten it using 27 Nm of torque (roughly 20 ft. lbs.). After that, link the brake tube to the proportioning valve and turn the tube nut to 17 Nm (145 in. lbs.). With the brake pedal holder gone, bleed the brake line that needs it and go for a short drive to confirm the brakes work correctly.
