The Chrysler PT Cruiser Brake Proportioning Valve is one of the most important parts within a car that immensely improve the car's braking system and safety. Considered as one of the brand's most dependable parts, this Brake Proportioning Valve helps prevent rear drum brakes from locking-up and take control from the front disc brakes in cases of sudden stops. This control of brake fluid pressure is important for the Chrysler PT Cruiser because it manages forces of brake and stopping the car from skidding to improve the overall driving effectiveness. This Brake Proportioning Valve is compatible with a number of the models of the Chrysler PT Cruiser and has been optimised to sit within the car's braking system to allow the levels of performance to remain even across the range. This characteristic facilitates its applicability in the fluctuating conditions of the fluid pressure and thus stands out as a prominent feature in automotive industry contributing towards the safety and efficiency aspect of the car. The Chrysler PT Cruiser which has aerodynamic design and custom built utility embodies from this innovative Brake Proportioning Valve which is rather crucial in supporting the balance of the car. Further, the design of the valve is integrated into Chrysler's engine and stems as a viable quality and performance engineering component in driving. The Chrysler PT Cruiser with over a million units manufactured to date remains a much-acclaimed model for its outstanding and reliable design with such parts like the Brake Proportioning Valve.

Chrysler PT Cruiser Brake Proportioning Valve Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Brake Proportioning Valve on Chrysler PT Cruiser?
    A:
Always check the service precautions before starting to work on or repair the brake proportioning/combination valve. First, hold the brake pedal down after depressing it by its first inch using the brake pedal holder, so brake fluid won't leak out. It is easier to access the lower left rear proportioning valve if you first take off the air cleaner cover and the hose to the Throttle Body. Take the brake tube away from the specialized valve that needs removing and then take out that valve from the master cylinder by unscrewing it. Applying grease to the O-ring and then inserting it into the port on the master cylinder, tighten it by 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Slide the brake tube onto the proportioning valve and use a torque wrench to tighten the tube nut until you reach 17 Nm (145 inch lbs.). Once the filter cover and air duct are taken off, return and install them. Take away the brake pedal holder, drain the faulty Brake Line by bleeding it and test the brakes by running a short road test.
  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Proportioning Valve on Chrysler PT Cruiser?
    A:
To service or repair the brake proportioning valve, first depress the brake pedal using a brake pedal holder at the brake pedal's first inch (25 mm), then hold the pedal in that place so the master cylinder does not send pressure to the brake hydraulic system and no brake fluid drains from the reservoir. An easier way to reach the lower (left rear) proportioning valve is to take out the air cleaner cover and Throttle Body hose. Unplug the brake tube at the proportional valve that you are going to remove, then remove the proportioning valve attached to the master cylinder. Apply grease to the O-ring on the proportioning valve and if it's not new, remove and replace it. Insert the proportioning valve (1 or 3) into its master cylinder (2) connector, then tighten it to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Quickly rejoin the brake tube (4 or 5) to the proportioning valve and tighten the connection nut to 17 Nm (145 inch lbs.) Once you remove the brake pedal holder, empty any leftover brake fluid by bleeding the affected line and test the brakes on the road.
