Before attaching the parking brake shoes, please inspect the springs, adjuster, lever and aluminum shoe anchor pin and replace any that may be damaged or worn. Put the rear support (2) over the wheel rim and slide in the holding pin (7) before fitting the lower brake shoe (6). Fasten the lower shoe (6) to the support plate (2) with the hold-down clip (7). After that, join the actuator lever (1) to where the end of the
Parking Brake Cable (2) meets the assembly. Make sure the word "UP" is facing away from the assembly. Attach the bottom spring (4) to the shoe bottom (6) and then place the upper shoe (6) on top of the support plate and its actuator lever. First, attach the hold-down pin (7) to the support and upper shoe from the rear end and follow by inserting the upper brake shoe hold-down clip (7) into the hole. Join the return spring (4) to the upper shoe (6) and put the shoe adjuster (8) upside down in place so the star wheel is visible. After that, set the parking brake shoe adjuster spring (3) in place. Put your Brake Shoe Gauge or Tool C-3919 or something similar, against the inside of the drum and set the gauge. Put the gauge over the parking brake shoes where they are widest and use the adjuster star wheel (2) to push the park brake shoes until the jumpers on the gauge are barely touching the linings on both parking brake shoes. After that, fit the hub and bearing with the wheel speed sensor and the essential components. Afterward, put the vehicle back on the ground and make the last adjustment of the brake shoes.
