How to Service and Repair a Vacuum Pump on Chrysler Aspen?

Before servicing or repairing the vacuum pump, disconnect the 12 volt battery system ground isolation and take the connector off the bracket. After that, pull the hose off the electric vacuum pump and unplug the electrical connector from the pump. Note how the two battery cables were routed before you remove them, so you can put them back correctly. Open the access cover to the positive battery cable, take off the nut and set the positive cables aside so you can reach the battery. With the battery cable junction block bolt removed, put the junction block aside and you can reach the electric vacuum pump. The pump holds the top bolt tightly with a nut on the back side. Take out the upper vacuum pump bracket bolt and nut and afterwards, the lower vacuum pump bracket bolts. Remove all the necessary components one at a time.
