How to Repair and Service a Power Window Switch on Dodge Dakota?

Turn off the engine, open the cab and remove and isolate the battery negative cable before proceeding. Insert a trim stick or wide flat-bladed tool under the front and rear of the bezel and pry gently to loosen the clips attached to the door trim opening. Pull the switch and bezel away from the door trim panel's edge to see and unplug the wire harness connector and then take out the unit from the door panel. Reversing the steps you took when you removed it, place the rear of the bezel inside the slot and gently push on the bezel's front until the clips lock into the frame. In quad cab models, disconnect the battery negative cable on the driver side front door and then remove the trim panel inside the door. Get to the back side of the trim panel, take away the screws attaching the switch unit to the bezel and then remove both from the door. To add mounts, just use the reverse installation steps and tighten the attachment screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). For both front and rear passenger doors, pull off the negative wire from the battery and use a trim tool to remove the panel inside the door. Insert a delicate thin-bladed screwdriver under the snap clips on the sides of the power window switch receptacle in the back of the door trim panel switch bezel and pull the switch forward. When installing, do the opposite of the removal instructions and ensure both switch snap retainers are in the receptacle.
