Clutch Master Cylinder in Dodge Neon cars is one of the imperative organ of the manual transmission that leads to develop the hydraulic force needed for clutch as per car's need. When the driver steps or applies pressure to the clutch pedal the clutch master cylinder fluid moves a piston to the slave cylinder un-affecting the clutch assembly to the flywheel. This hydraulic system plays the vital role in the fluid motion of gears as well as controlling of the transmission system. It is still not clear which specific changes have been made to Dodge Neon models over the course of years, although it is understood that different styles of Clutch Master Cylinder may have been applied. Some of the typical problems with the Clutch Master Cylinder include leaking of the fluid which will cause one to feel spongy on the clutch pedal or inability to shift gears. It is therefore very important to service the Clutch Master Cylinder due to the fact that should it develop any problems it will greatly affect the handling of the vehicle.

Dodge Neon Clutch Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Clutch Master Cylinder on Left-Hand Drive on Dodge Neon?
    A:
To working on the clutch master cylinder of T350 vehicles with left-hand drive, first take out the air cleaner assembly and remove the negative cable. First, place the car up on the hydraulic hoist and pull out the slave cylinder from the transaxle. After this, take out the left rail retainers and the hose from them. Leg down the car and take away the PDC bracket and the lower instrument panel bezel. Separate the Brake Booster input rod from the brake pedal pin, then detach the mounting nuts for the brake booster and ease it forward to reach the clutch master cylinder. Take out the clutch master cylinder reservoir and pull apart the master cylinder rod from the clutch pedal, examining the retainer and changing it if it's damaged. Take out both retaining nuts and the connect bracket while paying attention not to hurt the hydraulic tube. During installation, sustain the master cylinder on the dash panel, assemble the hydraulic tube in the line you identified before and connect the bracket for the self-docking connector. Fasten the master cylinder with nuts to 11 Nm (100 inch lbs.) and screw on the remote reservoir using a torque of 11 Nm (103 inch lbs.). Insert the brake booster and check that the plastic clutch master cylinder push rod retainer is not broken. With the vehicle raised again, mount a fresh service replacement slave cylinder when using a new master cylinder; leave the original slave cylinder in place for a serviceable master cylinder. Attach the master cylinder hydraulic line to the slave cylinder to hear an audible click and then decrease the vehicle. Ease the thread on the adjustment screw, attach the rod to the pedal pin, then press down the clutch pedal till it reaches the upstop point and apply 6 Nm (55 inch lbs.) of torque to the screw. Connect the ABS module/purge solenoid, PDC and the air cleaner in their proper place. Reduce air pressure by pumping up and down the clutch pedal ten times and you can also bleed the hydraulic system as required. Following that, attach the black Battery Cable, refill the clutch master cylinder with DOT 3 brake fluid to the proper level and test the clutch operation.
