While fitting the A/C condenser, tune the refrigerant oil level so there's no harm to the
A/C Compressor and secure the radiator/condenser air seals where they belong for best performance. Whenever several A/C parts are being replaced, refer to the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to choose the proper amount of oil. When installing just the A/C condenser, add 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of the advised refrigerant oil. Whenever you open the lines of a refrigerant system, remember to install new rubber O-ring seals and metal gaskets. First, eliminate all tape or plugs from the ports for the refrigerant lines, receiver/drier and condenser. First, apply clean refrigerant oil to any fresh rubber O-ring and set it along with a new compatible gasket at the refrigerant line fittings. When the A/C receiver/drier was removed, properly set it onto the A/C condenser. Place the A/C condenser behind the radiator in the engine compartment and fasten it with two bolts to the brackets, tightening each to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Bolster the discharge line on the condenser and tighten its nut to the required value, according to the service standard. Put the right side seal into position and only if you have an automatic transmission, fit the cooler lines from your transmission to the A/C condenser. Fasten the grille to the condenser, join the A/C liquid line into the condenser tube and secure them with one more retaining clip. Attach the air cleaner housing to its place and join the negative battery terminal. Remove all the refrigerant and if you are replacing the condenser, add 30 mL of refrigerant oil. However, for more than one replacement, consult the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart. The last step is to fill the refrigerant system.
