First, unplug the negative cable of the battery from the system and afterward, remove the refrigerant. Unhook the screw that holds the suction line jumper fitting to the expansion valve and take off the fitting, always placing plugs or tape over any open refrigerant line fittings. Take the suction line jumper and filter-drier together and set them beside the expansion valve to unscrew the screws holding the valve to the evaporator coil block fitting, then separate the expansion valve from the exiting line fitting and place some tissue or putty over all opened refrigerant line fittings. For mounting, pull off the tape or unplug the ends from the expansion valve and evaporator coil block, connect the expansion valve to the evaporator coil block and secure it with two screws, limited to 11.4 Nm (100 in. lbs. of force). After that, remove any tape or plugs from the block fitting on the suction line jumper and the expansion valve, put the suction line jumper block fitting onto the expansion valve and attach and tighten it with a screw to 22 Nm (200 in. lbs.). Lastly, link up the battery negative cable, evacuate everything from the refrigerant system and replace the refrigerant.
