The rear blower motor resistor is added to models only when they are set up with the optional rear heater-A/C unit. First, heat the rear heater-A/C by putting the ignition in the ON position and turning the air-conditioning control to MAX heat, then switch OFF and briefly detach the battery negative. After that, remove the cover from the back of the heater-A/C unit and pull the wire harness connector away from the rear blower motor resistor underneath. Take out the horizontal duct from the back of the heater-A/C unit and remove the blower motor resistor from the other side of the duct outlet, using pliers if it's large. Apply pressure to the inward part of the blower motor resistor shield against the outward side of the housing. The resistor should snap out of the shell when you push it. To install the blower motor resistor, lower it into the upper horizontal duct outlet of the upper housing and then push the outboard edge of the mounting flange under the two tabs on the lower housing mounting hole. Press the resistor against the outwards edge of the mounting hole with one hand and press down on the shield's inner edge with your other hand until the inward flange edge attaches to the retainer. Attach the wire harness connector to the rear blower motor resistor, bring back the horizontal duct, cover the rear heater-A/C unit and link the battery negative cable.
