The first step to changing the evaporator is to remove the heater-A/C housing from the car's engine compartment. After that, open the top case for the heater-A/C, unscrew the expansion valve and remove it from the evaporator coil. Unhook the fin sensing cycling clutch switch probe from the evaporator coil and pull the coil out of the heater-A/C housing. First, insert the evaporator coil into the heater-A/C base, rejoin the fin sensing cycling clutch switch probe and the expansion valve to the coils and lastly replace the cover on the housing. After that, put the heater-A/C housing back in the engine bay. If the front evaporator coil has been replaced, put in 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of refrigerant oil to the refrigerant system and be sure to use oil that matches the vehicle's compressor type.
