The first step for repairing the rear door exterior handle is to raise the glass to the highest position. After taking the watershield off the door, unplug the actuator rod from the rear handle. After that, undo the three screws holding the exterior handle to the rear door and pull out the handle. For installation, put the external handle over the mounting hole found on the outside of the rear door and use the supplied bolts to secure it so the tightness is 7 N.m or 60 in.lbs. Pair the actuator rod with the exterior rear handle, put the watershield back and set the latch.

How to Install a Rear Door Handle on a Full Rear Door on Jeep Wrangler?

Install the exterior handle on the rear door, using its given position and lock it in place by tightening the nuts to 4.5 Nm (40 in. lbs.). Following that, put on the carrier plate.
