Before doing anything else, isolate and unhook the battery cable from its negative terminal. After two minutes, the air bag system will be safe to work on. To remove any chance of accidental air bag activation, you need to be sure to disable the system using this method only. After that, take out the center bezel from the instrument panel and put it on a workbench. When that's done, remove the four screws holding the A/C-heater control in place and align the control with the hole in the instrument panel center bezel.

Attach the A/C-heater to the backside of the instrument panel center bezel with four screws tightened to 1.2 Nm (10 in. lbs.). After that, fit the center bezel to the instrument panel and attach the wire harness connectors to both the A/C-heater control in the back and to the accessory switches before putting in the center bezel. Hook the negative cable back to its position on the battery. Actuator Calibration will be carried out automatically the first time you turn on the ignition switch after installing or replacing your control. Should the A/C-heater control come from another car, this function has to be calibrated using a scan tool. If needed, use a scan tool to start the Actuator Calibration function.
