    First, separate the negative terminal of the battery to stop the air bag system when air bag cars are being worked on and wait for two minutes for the capacitor to discharge. First, take off the cover at the steering column opening in the instrument panel and then remove the combination flasher from the Junction Block (JB). When installing, put the combination flasher in its correct position in the JB, where its terminals match up with the terminal cavities. Forcefully connect the combination flasher by seating the terminals in the JB receptacle. After that, reattach the opening cover for the steering column and reconnect the negative battery cable.

    Start your repair by disconnecting and isolating the battery negative cable and keeping everything calm in the car for two minutes while the air bag system's capacitor discharges. Start by taking off the steering column opening cover from the instrument panel and the two screws on the bottom of the steering column shroud. If your steering column tilts, set it at its lowest point and leave the tilt release lever unlocked. Now, pull the upper shroud off the steering column, grab the combination flasher and detach the terminals in the back of the left multi-function switch housing by pulling the flasher toward the dash panel. Put the combination flasher in the back part of the left multi-function switch and then join the terminals with the cavity openings. When the flasher fits, push down until it seats securely. Once done, fit the upper shroud over the column, matching the locating tabs with the twin multi-function switch control stalk watershields and secure the lower shroud with two screws tightened to 2 Nm (18 in. lbs.). When required, lift the tilt steering column to the highest position and fasten it, add the steering column opening cover and then reattach the negative cable on the battery.
