  • Q: How Are A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches Serviced and Repaired on 2000 Dodge Dakota?
    A: Start by disconnecting and isolating the negative cable from the battery for Low Pressure Cycling Clutch Switch service. Remove the wire harness connector from the low pressure cycling clutch switch close to the accumulator's top, then unscrew the clutch switch from the side of the accumulator and throw out the O-ring seal from the accumulator fitting. When installing the new O-ring seal, lubricate it first with clean oil from the R-134a system, then apply it to the accumulator fitting and use only O-ring materials and refrigerant oil recommended by the vehicle's compressor. After that, fit the low pressure cycling clutch switch onto the accumulator fitting and hand-tighten it, pop the connector onto the switch and attach the negative battery cable.
