2000 Dodge Dakota A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose on 2000 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before you can replace the A/C liquid hose/line, disconnect and isolate the battery's negative cable and recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. Take off the engine air filter housing cover, if you can and detach the mounting nuts from the vehicle speed control servo bracket to the cowl plenum panel to move the servo away. Remove the fastener from the liquid line at the condenser and the coupler from the refrigerant line at the evaporator and then put plugs or tape over every opened refrigerant line fitting. Separate the two mounting clips of the liquid line from the inner fender shield and pull the liquid line out of the vehicle. Set the liquid line into the two clamps on the inside of the fender shield, free the tape or plugs from the refrigerant line fittings, attach the line to the condenser and evaporator and tighten the fastener at the condenser to a range between 22.6 and 25.95 Nm (200 and 230 in. lbs.). Allow the vehicle speed control servo bracket to be replaced, then put in place the engine air filter housing, refit the battery negative cable, vent the refrigerant system and supply it with refrigerant.
