2000 Dodge Dakota Blower Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What Safety Measures Are Essential When Servicing a Blower Motor on 2000 Dodge Dakota?
A: When dealing with the blower motor on vehicles with air-bags, careful approach is required to stop the risk of an air-bag exploding and anyone close getting hurt. Take apart and remove the housing of the heater-A/C unit. After that, remove the three screws that attach the blower motor and wheel to the heater-A/C housing. Take the whole blower motor and wheel assembly out from the passenger compartment as you help the wire harness, grommet and connector through the hole on the dash panel side. Undo the retaining clip on the blower wheel and take the wheel off the motor shaft. To install, press the blower wheel onto the motor shaft, making certain the flat sections are facing one another. Set the retainer clip on the blower wheel hub, fit the tips of the clip over the marks noticed on both the motor shaft and hub. Put the blower motor and wheel assembly back into the heater-A/C housing and guide the wire harness connector through the grommet hole. Pull the wiring into the housing while placing the grommet into the cap. First, put in the three screws to hold the blower motor and wheel together, tightening them to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.), then place and secure the heater-A/C housing.
