2001 Dodge Durango Ambient Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain an Ambient Temperature Sensor on 2001 Dodge Durango?
A: The first step to service the ambient temperature sensor is to take off and extract the battery negative cable. On the radiator, locate the ambient temperature sensor on the right side of the radiator yoke behind the grille, separate the wire from the sensor connector joining to the receptacle. Loosen the screw holding the sensor bracket to the radiator yoke and take away the ambient temperature sensor. Align the sensor with the radiator yoke and screw it into place with the bracket, but make sure to tighten it to 5.6 Nm (50 in. lbs.) After that, reconnect the wire harness connector to the sensor and attach the negative end of the battery cable.
