2001 Dodge Durango A/C Expansion Valve Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair an A/C Expansion Valve on 2001 Dodge Durango?
A: First, cut the connection to the battery negative, then clear the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. After that, remove the liquid line out of the engine section and take off the two screws that hold the expansion valve to the evaporator tube mounting flange. Next, pull out the expansion valve. Always close up or cover the openings in your refrigerant lines using plugs or tape. Place the expansion valve over the evaporator tube mounting flange, take out any blocks or covering from the connections and hold it down with the included screws. Hook up the liquid line to the engine compartment, empty the refrigerant system, reload it and lastly attach the battery negative cable.
