2001 Dodge Durango Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace a Front Evaporator Core on 2001 Dodge Durango?
A: Initially, you should separate and isolate the battery's negative cable before you detach the front evaporator core. Takethe heater-A/C housing out of the vehicle and lift off its cover. Remove the front evaporator coil from within the heater-A/C housing. Put the new front evaporator coil at the bottom of the heater-A/C housing and then reassemble everything before putting the housing back in the vehicle. When changing the front evaporator coil, pour in 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of recommended refrigerant oil into the overall system. After that, you should empty the refrigerant and then put it back into the system. When all is done, reattach the battery negative cable.
