  • Q: How Do A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches Affect High Pressure Sensor Service and Repair on 2001 Dodge Neon?
    A: Before servicing the high pressure sensor/switch, the refrigerant must be removed from the system. Drain out the refrigerant and then remove the wiring connector at the switch. Get rid of the snap ring on the inside and pull the switch out from within the compressor. After cleaning the switch mounting bore, install the high pressure cutout switch including a new O-ring into your compressor. Reattach the small internal snap ring and then link the wire harness to the switch. Afterward, suck out the remaining refrigerant and fill it all back inside the system.
