2001 Dodge Neon Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace an Aluminum Plate and Fin Style Evaporator in an Evaporator/Blower Module on 2001 Dodge Neon?
A: Begin by removing the heater-A/C housing from your car to replace the A/C evaporator with an aluminum plate and fin style evaporator in the Evaporator/Blower module. First take the tape off the foam seals and separate the ends of the evaporator line connection and the dash panel air distribution route. In addition, unplug the fin sensing probe from its main harness connector. After that, take out the upper to lower case retaining clip and screws and open the case to carefully remove the evaporator. First, set the new evaporator in the module section, close the case sides and attach the retaining clip and screws. After the fin sensing probe is connected, reseat the foam seals on the evaporator line and the A/C panel outlets before putting in place the heater-A/C housing. After that, drain any liquid remaining and recharge the refrigerant.
