2002 Jeep Wrangler A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What Are A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches and How Do They Function on 2002 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before you start handling the high pressure sensor/switch, disconnect and disconnect the negative battery lead. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the high pressure switch which is installed on the main discharge line desiding the compressor. Unscrew the high pressure switch from its position on the discharge line fitting and remove the O-ring seal as you discard it. When fitting the discharge line with a new O-ring seal, grease it with tartget specific refrigerant oil and be sure to only use O-rings manufactured from the materials advised by the R-134a system for your car. After that, put the end of the high pressure switch into the discharge line fitting, push the wire harness connector into the switch and reconnect the battery negative cable last.
