2002 Jeep Wrangler Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Locate, Remove, and Install the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor on 2002 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The 4.0L and 2.5L engine have the Intake Manifold Temperature (IMT) sensor in the intake manifold plenum and is in the vicinity of the throttle body. To access the removal of the sensor, disconnect the electrical connector of the IMT sensor then remove the sensor located inside the intake manifold. To install, follow the above steps by placing the IMT sensor back in the intake manifold and tightening it to a torque of 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.), and then connect back the respective electrical connector to the sensor.
