2003 Dodge Durango Exhaust Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How Is the Left Exhaust Manifold Installed on 2003 Dodge Durango?
A: Start the installation of the left exhaust manifold by setting the manifold and gasket under the engine. Following this, set up each Lower exhaust manifold clamp or bolt, but do not tighten anything yet. Install the upper exhaust manifold fasteners and proceed to tighten all manifold bolts starting with the central bolts and moving outside to 18 ft. lbs. Don't tighten the fasteners holding the heat shield too hard, since this might cause the shield to distort or crack. Put on the exhaust manifold heat shield and fix it with 8 Nm (72 In. lbs.) of pressure, then remove them at 45 degrees. In the end, join the exhaust pipe to the manifold and put the negative cable back on the battery.
