  A: Before servicing the impact sensor, disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for two minutes for the system capacitor to drain. Pull straight up on the door sill trim plate to release it from its clips after you have taken out the ignition key. After that, take away the plastic cover at the front of the seat track and unscrew the bolts on the front seat. Following that, remove the bolts that attach the rear seat and the seat belt and then remove the seat. Removing the carpet hold down behind the wall allows you to turn the carpet forward for easy access to the side impact sensor below the seat.
