2004 Chrysler Pacifica A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose in HVAC System for Discharge Hose on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Replacing the A/C discharge hose/line should start with recovering all the refrigerant from the system. Now comes the time to remove the front fascia, then remove the four radiator sight shield retaining pins and the radiator sight shield. After that, take out the right side radiator air seal and remove the radiator cooling fan assembly. Take off the nut that holds the discharge line fitting to the right of the condenser, then pull the fitting away from the condenser inlet port and discard any seal. Apply tape or a plug over both the open discharge line fitting and the condenser inlet port. To disconnect the discharge line from the compressor, loosen the nut at the compressor top, pull the fitting off its port and toss out the seal. As before, seal or block off both the opened fitting on the discharge line and the discharge port of the compressor before removing the discharge line from inside the engine compartment. To install, direct the discharge line into the engine section and take the tape or stoppers off the compressor exit and the end of the discharge line. Place a new rubber seal on the discharge fitting and put it in place on the compressor discharge port, screwing it on with a nut and tightening it until it reaches 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Take off the tapes or plugs from the condensers inlet and discharge line fittings, apply lubricant to a fresh rubber seal and tightly fasten the fitting to the condensers inlet port by screwing it with 23 Nm (17 ft lbs.) of force. Put in the radiator fan assembly, right radiator air expansion tube, air seal and retainer, radiator shield and its retainer and the front fascia. After that, clear out and charge the refrigerant circuit.
