  A: Before changing the actuator on a dual zone system, turn off the air bag system by disconnecting and isolating the battery negative cable and then wait a couple of minutes after it to allow the air bag system capacitor to discharge. First, take out the silencer from under the driver-side end of the instrument panel. After that, unplug the wire harness from the actuator, remove the screws holding the actuator to the distribution housing and remove the actuator. Place the actuator onto the housing of the heater/air conditioner unit so the splines on the actuator output shaft match the linkage of the blend air door. Screw the actuator in place with two Nm (17 in. lbs.), connect the HVAC wire harness, reinstall the silencer and attach the battery negative cable. Following installation, conduct the heater-A/C calibration routine.
