2005 Chrysler Pacifica A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an A/C Hose on 2005 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Before you remove the A/C suction line, you should first get rid of the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. After isolating the negative battery cable from the battery, remove the air cleaner housing and the air inlet tube, the drain tube at the right end of the wiper module and the radiator fan. Then, take out the nut attached to the A/C suction line at the compressor, free the suction line from the main unit and throw away the O-ring and gasket. Fill or place tape over the opened areas of the suction line fitting and compressor port. Remove the routing clip from the right frame rail, separate the nut securing the lines to the A/C valve and cut loose the lines. Before you remove the A/C suction line from the engine compartment, cover or tape up all the opened fittings and the expansion valve ports. During installation, run the A/C suction line into the engine area, take out the tape or plugs from the fittings and ports, oil the new rubber O-ring seals with clean refrigerant oil and put them over the suction and liquid line fittings. Fit the lines to the A/C expansion valve, screw in the nut and tighten it till it reads 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.) on the torque wrench. Place the suction line clip into the routing groove, take out the tapes or plugs put on the suction line fitting and the compressor port, add clean refrigerant oil to the O-ring and gasket of the new seal and put them on the fitting before setting the A/C suction line over the A/C compressor. Put the nut in place and tighten the lamps to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.), install the radiator fan, drain tube, air cleaner housing and air inlet tube. Secure the negative battery connection, remove all refrigerant and put it back according to the manual.
