2004 Dodge Dakota A/C Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the A/C Switch on 2004 Dodge Dakota?
A: To access the control assembly, first turn off the air bags by isolating the battery, wait two minutes so that all air bag capacitors are discharged, then remove the negative battery cable. Unhook and isolate the negative battery cable at first. After that, take off the cluster bezel from the instrument panel and remove the wire harness connectors from the back of the heater-A/C control. Unscrew the securing screws that are holding the A/C-heater control to the cluster bezel. Set the A/C-heater control onto the center bezel of the instrument panel and use the special tool to tighten the screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Fasten both ends of the wire harness connectors to the A/C-heater control, put the cluster bezel onto the instrument panel and then hook the negative battery cable back on.
