2004 Dodge Dakota Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Blower Motor Resistor on 2004 Dodge Dakota?
A: Turn off the car's air bag system by disconnecting the negative battery cable and allow two minutes for any stored charge in the system to empty. Avoid the blower motor resistor block heat sink, because it can be hot and never use the blower motor when the resistor block has been taken off. Remove the negative battery cable first when you start your work. After that, go under the dashboard and take out the wire from the blower motor resistor block. Take out two screws that are securing the blower motor resistor block inside the HVAC housing, then get rid of the whole resistor block. Before screwing in the two bolts, first place the blower motor resistor block into the HVAC assembly and then tighten the bolts to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.) as shown in the picture. Link the blower resistor block to the wire harness connector and attach the negative battery cable again at the last step.
