2005 Dodge Dakota A/C Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the A/C Switch on 2005 Dodge Dakota?
A: Begin by switching off the air bag on cars containing air bags by disconnecting and isolating the negative battery cable, waiting for two minutes until the capacitor discharges and then you can service the control assembly. The first thing to do is disconnect the negative battery cable. After that, take out the middle bezel of the instrument panel and remove connectors 3 and 4 from the A/C-heater control 1. Take the center bezel and put it on a workbench, then get rid of the screws 2 attaching the A/C-heater control to it. Find the device's hole in the center of the instrument panel bezel, insert A/C-heater control 1 there and use screws 2 to keep it in place, tightening to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.). Link wire harness connectors 3 and 4 to the rear of the A/C-heater control 5 and replace the instrument panel center bezel. After everything else is done, hook up the negative battery cable again.
