2004 Dodge Dakota Evaporator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Repair an Evaporator on 2004 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before handling the evaporator core, turn off the air bag system in vehicles with air bags by separating the battery negative cable and make sure you wait two minutes before starting work to ensure the air bag system remains safe. Start off by taking out the HVAC housing and separating it to get access to the A/C evaporator. The following step is to pull out the evaporator temperature sensor probe from the evaporator and remove the evaporator from the housing. When installing a new A/C evaporator, include 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of suitable refrigerant oil in the system. After finishing the refrigerant process, place the evaporator in the housing, check the cleanliness of the evaporator drain and attach the deflector shield. Put the evaporator temperature sensor probe into the evaporator, then complete and attach the HVAC housing.
