2005 Dodge Dakota Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Blower Motor Resistor on 2005 Dodge Dakota?
A: Start by cutting off and isolating the air bag system's negative battery cable, letting the system flow out for two minutes, before performing maintenance on the blower motor resistor. Let the blower motor stay off for at least five minutes to make sure the resistor is cool before you begin. To start, loosen the connection between the negative battery cable first and afterward take out the glove box. After that, press the locking tab of the wire harness connector and unplug the connector from the blower motor resistor. Eliminate the two screws (3) holding the blower motor resistor to the HVAC cover and pull out the resistor. Put the blower motor resistor (2) into the HVAC housing (4) and fix it with the two screws (3), tightening them until they reach 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.). Reconnect the wire harness connector (1) to the blower motor resistor, press the locking tab and then reinstall the glove box. After that, reattach the negative battery cable.
