  A: Before you can service or repair rocker arms, remove the cylinder head cover, the fuel rail and the spark plugs. Keep rotating the engine until the lobe on the follower you're taking out is at its lowest point, seeing to it that the piston is at least 0.25 in. (6.3 mm) below TDC. If the cam follower assemblies will be used again, remember to mark the locations they started in. Use the special tools Special Tools 8215 and 8436 to lower the valve assembly, remembering that you may have to remove additional parts to allow the tools access. Check the rocker arm and change it whenever it appears to be damaged or used. While putting it in, coat the rocker arm in clean engine oil and then gently press down the valve assembly with tool 8215 and install 8436 to get the rocker arm onto the hydraulic lifter and valve stem. After Installation for every rocker arm, continue by putting back the spark plugs, fuel rail and cylinder head cover.
