2004 Jeep Liberty Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Transmission Speed Sensor for Output on 2004 Jeep Liberty?
A: First, lift the car and place a proper fluid collection pan underneath the transmission for the sensor's service. Disconnect the connector from the output speed sensor, undo the screw holding it to the case and then take out the output speed sensor. To install the sensor, put it back into the transmission case and fasten it tightly with a bolt at 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.). Place the wiring connector back on the output speed sensor, confirm that transmission fluid is the right amount and fill it if it isn't enough before lowering the vehicle.
