  A: When working with the Air Bag Control Module, start by lifting the hood, removing the negative side of the battery and delaying any air bag work for about two minutes while the reserve capacitor empties. Get rid of the center console, then unscrew the ORC mounting nuts and remove the ground eyelet and disconnect the ORC 23-way connector. After taking out the ORC, plug in the ORC connector, checking that all the lock tabs are also fitted. Nuts from the pack should be used to place the ORC with the arrow ahead in the console floor bracket, then the ground eyelet should be replaced and nuts tightened to between 9.6 and 14 N.m (85 to 125 in.lbs.) with the ground eyelet put over the front weld stud as the ORC is reattached. Put the center console assembly in place, close the hood and check vehicle and systems without connecting the vehicle's battery.
