On vehicles with air bags, disconnect the negative battery cable and let it sit for two minutes to allow the control module capacitor to drain before touching the software components. Start out by taking out the negative battery cable and carefully remove the center bezel from the instrument panel to put it on a workbench. To power down the heating-A/C system, unconnect the infrared sensor from the back of the A/C-heater control for vehicles with the ATC. Remove the control from the center bezel by taking six screws out of its holder on the back of the instrument panel. Slide the assembled A/C-heater control into the center of the instrument panel, fixing it with the six screws to a tightness of 17 inches lbs. With the ATC heating-A/C system, join the infrared sensor connector with the A/C-heater control and finally apply the center bezel to the instrument panel. When you've completed everything, put the negative battery cable back and calibrate the A/C-heater control.
