2005 Dodge Dakota Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix an Evaporator on 2005 Dodge Dakota?
A: Ational housing should be removed and placed on a worktable after removing the HVAC housing, then dismantle it. Close the access panel on top of the HVAC system; if you see a torn or dented evaporator seal, you need to replace it. Use care to pull out the A/C evaporator from the HVAC unit's lower half. Should the rubber flange around the evaporating tubes show any damages, have a qualified professional replace it immediately. Whenever you replace the A/C evaporator, inject 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of the suitable refrigerant oil into the A/C system by following the instructions for the A/C compressor in the car. After you remove the evaporator drain nut, add the rubber flange over the evaporator tubes and check that the evaporator drain is unclogged and the rubber seal and rubber flange sit correctly in the HVAC containers. Slide the evaporator for the AC into the lower part of the HVAC housing and then put the HVAC housing together.
