2005 Dodge Dakota A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service an A/C Condenser on 2005 Dodge Dakota?
A: Start the HVAC condenser service by taking the refrigerant out of the refrigerant system and removing the negative battery cable. During this process, you do not have to take the hood latch out of the upper radiator support. After that, take out the upper radiator support and place it somewhere safe. Unhook the discharge line and the liquid line from the tapping blocks that are located on the right end of the A/C condenser. Untighten the screws that fix the power steering cooler to the A/C condenser and pull the cooler out of the way. After that, get rid of the four bolts that hold the A/C condenser in place on the radiator. While being careful, push the radiator back and lift the A/C condenser out of the engine area. When changing the A/C condenser, put in 30 milliliters of the refrigerant oil the compressor of your vehicle requires. Install the A/C condenser into the car's engine compartment and secure it to the radiator with the four bolts. Tighten the bolts to 4.5 N.m. Secure the power steering cooler to the A/C condenser using the retaining screws and ensure that they are nicely tightened. Guide the hood latch cable and then attach the A/C discharge line and A/C liquid line to the A/C condenser. After that, you will reinstall the top radiator support, reconnect the negative battery cable, release all the refrigerant and finally top up the refrigerant.
