After raising and supporting the vehicle, remove the connector linked to the upstream oxygen sensor. There are several oxygen crow foot wrench systems, so locate one and then use it to remove the sensor. After taking it out, use an 18 mm X 1.5 + 6E tap to clean the exhaust manifold threads. For sensors that are reused, put an anti-seize compound like Loctite(R) 771-64 or its equivalent onto the threads before assembly. Sensors for installation are already coated with compound and there is no need for further coating. Screw the oxygen sensor tight with the crow foot wrench, making sure the torque is 28 N-m (20 ft. lbs.) and go ahead and plug the sensor connector back in.
