2005 Jeep Wrangler Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Locate and Replace the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor on a 2.4L Engine on 2005 Jeep Wrangler?
A: An IMT sensor on the 2.4L is found at the back of the intake manifold plenum. To disconnect the sensor, first unplug the electrical connector on the sensor and then clean any muck that has built up around the sensor base. Press the small plastic tab and then turn the sensor counterclockwise about 1/4 turn to get it off. While you're disassembling, see if the sensor O-ring is intact. Before installation, examine the O-ring and clean the hole in the intake manifold that the sensor will go in. Slide the sensor into the intake manifold and rotate it clockwise past the release tab and then start the electrical connector.
