How to Service and Repair Front Wiper Arms on 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

When servicing the wiper arms, set the wiper arm blades in PARK, shut off the ignition and open the hood. Gently lift the wiper arm nut cap with a trim stick (special tool #C-4755) or the equivalent tool and then remove it. Then, take off the nut that holds the arm to the arm pivot and while the arm is in an over/centered position, pull or rock it away. Gently remove any metal fragments from the center pivot shafts. Before fitting the wipers, verify that the module is in park mode by firstly using the system completely. Have the driver's wiper blade end at the same height as the windshield's park mark, raising or lowering it to meet the passenger blade. First, locate the arm on the pivot with its over/centered position facing you, attach the retaining nut and tighten it to 21 N.m (190 in. lbs.). After that, place the wiper arm nut cap and close the hood.
