2006 Dodge Caravan Evaporator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain an Evaporator in the Rear A/C System on 2006 Dodge Caravan?
A: Before working on the rear A/C evaporator, first unhook the housing and put it on a handy workbench. Take apart the rear HVAC box as needed to access the rear A/C evaporator, then take it out and throw away the O-ring seals attached to it. Anytime the rear A/C evaporator is replaced, add 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of refrigerant oil to the system, using only the oil advised for the car's A/C compressor. Insert the new rear A/C evaporator into the HVAC housing's inboard half, then cover the new O-ring seals with clean refrigerant oil and install them onto the evaporator's fittings, using just the suggested special material O-rings for this HVAC system. You should then put the rear HVAC housing into place, as the last step.
