2006 Dodge Caravan Blend Door Actuator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Blend Door Actuator on 2006 Dodge Caravan?
    A: In order to service the Air Door Actuator/Motor on vehicles with air bags, remove and isolate the negative battery cable from the battery and wait a couple of minutes to allow the air bag system capacitor to discharge. The mixer door actuator is located in one place for a single zone unit, though there are two actuators in a dual zone system, each for their side. Slide the silencer out from its place underneath the driver side end of the panel. Take the wire harness connector off the blend door actuator and unscrew the two parts joining the actuator to the HVAC air distribution housing. After that, remove the actuator. When placing the new actuator, line up its output shaft splines with the blend air door linkage on the air distribution housing. Affix the actuator with the two screws that provide 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.) and then attach the HVAC wire harness connector again. After that, mount the silencer beneath the driver side end of the instrument panel, reattach the negative battery cable and adjust the A/C-heater control.
