2006 Dodge Dakota Brake Disc Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Brake Disc on 2006 Dodge Dakota?
A: Start by getting the vehicle up and secure on jack stands, next remove the wheel and tire to access the brake rotor/disc. Once that's done, unfasten the caliper with the adaptor bolts from the steering knuckle and take off the caliper adapter assembly, so the brake hose does not keep the assembly attached. Take the rotor off the end of the hub/bearing. Installation involves securing the rotor to the hub/bearing, adding the caliper adapter assembly and fastening the adapter bolts to 176 Nm (130 ft. lbs.) of torque. Again, put the wheel and tire onto the studs, lower the vehicle, brake a few times and only continue when the brakes feel firm.
