2006 Dodge Dakota Wheel Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Wheel Cylinder on 2006 Dodge Dakota?
A: You need to remove both the wheel and tire assembly and then the brake drum before handling the wheel cylinder. Remove the spring at the bottom of the brake shoe and push the shoes further away from the cylinder after that. Take off the brake line from the wheel cylinder and get rid of the cylinder by removing its bolts from the support plate. For installation, place the cylinder and fasten it using the mounting bolts which should be tightened to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). Attach the brake line to the cylinder, add the brake shoe spring and set the brake drum back in the mounting. After that, attach the wheel and tire to the axle and bleed the base brake system.
