2006 Dodge Dakota Brake Pad Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Repair Brake Pads on 2006 Dodge Dakota?
A: At the outset, elevate the vehicle, hold it securely and take out the wheel and tire. First, squeeze the caliper, second, unbolt and separate the caliper from the caliper adapter using a brake hose and don't allow the brake hose to hold up the caliper assembly. Hold up the caliper after support, next pull the inboard brake pad from the caliper adapter. After that, get out the outboard brake pad and eliminate the anti-rattle clips that hold it in place. To install the pistons, first bottom them in the caliper bore by placing an old brake shoe between the chestnut and the caliper bore, then use the C-clamp. Cleans the caliper adapter and then add the new clips to the brake pads. After that, set in the inboard brake pad in the adapter and finish by setting in the outboard brake pad. Put the caliper on the rotor and press it into the adapter and once that is done, add the bolts to secure the caliper slide pin. Reattach the wheel and tire assembly and then lower the car. Afterwards, press the brake a few times for the pistons and brakes to take shape and make pressing the pedal easy. Make sure to give the master cylinder fluid a good top-up.
