2006 Dodge Durango Exhaust Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Left Exhaust Manifold on 2006 Dodge Durango?
A: Before servicing the left exhaust manifold, first take off the negative cable from the battery and lift and support the car. First, remove the bolts and nuts from the exhaust pipe to the engine exhaust manifold and then slowly lower the vehicle. Then, take out the exhaust heat shields, undo the nuts and bolts that hold the manifold to the cylinder head and remove the manifold and its gasket. Should you discover tough-to-remove nuts, clean up and secure studs and put sealer on the threading after installation. Adjust the engine exhaust manifold and its gasket on the cylinder head, located on each of two studs and add conical washers and nuts. Attach all conical washers remaining and tighten the bolts and nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Start with the ones in the center arm and proceed outward. Replace the exhaust heat shields and make sure the fasteners aren't too tight so they may not crack or bend due to pressure. For the final step, put the exhaust pipe on the manifold and attach it using bolts, nuts and retainers, tightening everything to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.) torque.
